I for one, welcome our new robot overlords...

We’ve taken a break from trying to hustle you out of your hard-earned cash during January, partly cause we’re trying to get our 2023 ducks in a row and partly because we know you’re all as skint as we are.
Even before the cost of living crisis threw a spanner in the works, the whole retail/financial landscape of Indie publishing was already shifting and this has been exacerbated by some fundamental changes in the main social media platforms.
Twitter is now pretty much a bust, visibility & engagement have fallen so low that its a futile exercise to try to use it to connect with readers to a degree that will move any dials.
The other social media channels have taken smaller but still significant hits in engagement, but much more worrying for publishers like us is that at the same time, response rates to ads across Amazon, Facebook & Insta have all taken a tumble too - in most cases making those sales channels unprofitable.
Luckily for us, figuring out how to digest, understand, react, evolve, and pivot around these type of challenges has kinda been my professional wheelhouse for the last 20 years or so.
We’ve been locked away trying to come up with a way to save Fahrenheit (yes, again) to try and avoid the fate of so many other indies who are going to the wall.
The good news is we think we’ve got a plan, and we think it might just work.

That said, when we came out blinking into the light it was only to discover that ChatGPT had emerged and is apparently about to make all of us redundant…

Disappointingly it’s better than we thought it’d be.
Still, you’d have to be a proper cocky bastard to ignore a direct command from our new Robot Overlords so I suggest you open your wallet and get your buying finger primed because imma pretty sure ChatGPT is making a list…

We’re just being a little cautious because the last time we published a manifesto of our plans back in January 2020 a worldwide pandemic appeared to scupper every single last one of them.
