Hola Fahrenhistas,
The world still seems hell-bent on raining on all our parades and although we can’t (and ought not) shut out everything that’s going on it’s also okay to cut ourselves some slack and escape from all the noise for a few hours.
The good news is if you’re reading this then you’re almost 100% certain to be a bit of a Bookish Weirdo and what better way to shut out the world than to disappear into a good book.
We get that hard-boiled noir probably isn’t what you want to reach for in times like these so with this in mind we've curated a special selection of books on our list that dial down the gore and and instead will amuse you, charm you and make you laugh out loud while still delivering a thrillingly great read.
And what’s even better is that if YOU BUY ONE WE’LL GIVE YOU ANOTHER FOR HALF-PRICE…
Frankly if these books don’t cheer you up and take you out of yourself for a few hours the only other suggestion we can offer involves a barrel of tequila - and honestly we’re saving that just in case April decides to be an asshat too.
Some of the more eagle-eyed might have noticed a couple of new covers lurking about in our featured collection this week - give yourself an extra point.
We’ve just published two new editions of Duncan MacMaster’s much loved Jake Mooney books because these are EXACTLY the sort of books you all need in your lives right now - smart, funny & twisty - we promise you’ll love them…
Both these amazing books are included in this week’s special offer so if you BUY ONE YOU’LL GET THE OTHER FOR HALF-PRICE.
And remember as with all our books - IF YOU BUY THE PAPERBACK WE GIVE YOU THE EBOOK FOR FREE so you could be reading these beauties in minutes.
We’re gonna keep it short & sweet this week as we’ll have more new book news for you next week.
We’re mainly gonna be drinking beer, watching the final 3 games of this year’s Six Nations and wondering how Scotland managed to under perform yet again after such a magnificent result against England in game one of the series - as always for Scottish rugby fans - it’s the hope that kills us.
If you’re headed out this weekend stay safe, look after each other and above all be kind - lots of people are right on the edge at the moment and a smile from a stranger might be just the thing they need to make it through the day.
We kiss you.
xx
P.S. - apparently we didn’t quite sell out the latest issue of Fahrenzine last weekend so as of right now there are still 4 copies left in the store so you can still grab one if you’re quick…
