Hola Fahrenhistas,
We cant tell you how excited we’ve been waiting to drop our latest book on you - seriously we’ve all been buzzing about this one since the manuscript landed at our door a year ago.
Now we can FINALLY drop all the cloak & dagger and share it with you.
Cash Rules Everything Around Me by Rob Gittins will be released on 14th Oct 2022 and pre-orders are open now.
Honestly, this book really is something else.
Rob is a prolific and award-winning screenwriter and author - frankly there’s not a publisher we know who wouldn’t give their right arm to get him on their roster.
Over the years he’s published a whole bunch of novels, the last one I'm Not There was published only a few days ago (and he has another The Devil's Bridge Affair on the starting blocks for publication at the end of October) - it’s fair to say he’s a writer who’s not short on offers.
Luckily for us though he’s also a massive fan of Fahrenheit and what we’ve built over the years. When he started writing Cash Rules Everything Around Me he knew it was going to be a bit of a departure from his usual style and he also knew that Fahrenheit was the only place he wanted it be.
When we read it, we agreed with him 100% - we can’t imagine this book living anywhere else except on our list.
It’s fair to say we’re all a bit in love with this one. No, you shut up.
So what’s it about then?
At it’s heart it’s a book about a heist, but it’s also a book about love, and friendship and a bunch of people living on the edges of society doing their best to live their lives any way they can.
Their adventures are by turns disturbing, absurd and hilarious - as you’d expect from a screenwriter of Rob’s distinction - the dialogue is out of this world, it has a rhythm and cadence that gives an urgency to the action on the page and it genuinely is a challenge to put this book down rather than trying to slip in a few more pages before bed.
If you’ve ever enjoyed British TV shows like Shameless or Brassic you’ll be on very solid ground here - frankly we reckon the chances of this not being snapped up for television before the year’s out are slim to none.
Like it’s author, Cash Rules Everything Around Me is a class act from beginning to end - here’s what just a few people think about Rob’s writing…
“Utterly compelling… highly recommended for those looking for a crime novel that is that bit different.” -Newbooks Magazine
“Visceral, strongly visual and beautifully structured… powerful, quirky characters.” - Andrew Taylor, Winner, Crime Writers Association Cartier Diamond Dagger
"Impressive, hard-hitting, well-plotted and superbly written" - Crime Review
"Well-drawn characters and sophisticated storytelling…" - Publishers Weekly
"A brilliant thriller that keeps you awake and reading at night." - Review Wales
"If there’s one thing you can be sure of when it comes to Rob Gittins’s literary output, it is that he’s not afraid of a scintillating pace." - Jack Clothier, Gwales
"Terrifying and suspenseful, non-stop jeopardy. Just be glad you're only reading it and not in it." - Tony Garnett, Producer: Kes, Cathy Come Home, Cops, This Life
Cash Rules Everything Around Me is available for pre-order now in both paperback & hardback editions so what are you waiting for?
And of course as the Fahrenheit designers have hit it out of the park (again) with this stunning cover we figured it’d be rude not to make it into some classic merch….
We reckon this shirt might just be the perfect response to the times we’re all living through right now - it’s a limited run so don’t mess around - if you want one get in quickly - remember the bigger sizes ALWAYS sell out first.
In other awesome book news we just wanted to say thanks to all of you who went straight out and ordered First Dead Body by Tony R. Cox after we announced it last week. It’s proved so popular that we’ve decided to extend our discount offer for all of you who are still getting up to speed with the Simon Jardine Investigates series.
15% OFF ANY book in the series if you use promo-code TONY15 at the checkout.
Okay, that’s about all from us for this week.
I know some of you might think we’ve gone a bit overboard with the praise for Cash Rules Everything Around Me this week but the simple truth is that it REALLY IS AS SPECIAL AS WE’RE SAYING IT IS - if you buy one Fahrenheit book this year make it’s this one.
Stay safe and try not to think about the shit-show going on in the real world at the moment - dive into some books instead.
We kiss you.
