Ho Ho Hola Fahrenhistas,
While the rest of the world is bankrupting themselves trying to give another billionaire enough money to build another spaceship we decided it was the perfect day to launch our SHOP INDIE THIS CHRISTMAS campaign.
If you think Santa is looking a little serious it’s because he knows this has been the toughest two years in the history of Independent Publishing and this holiday season will be make or break for many amazing Indies.
Santa doesn’t want to be on his sleigh dodging any more of Jeff’s pointless rockets so we’ve joined forces with the bearded one this Chrismas to urge you all to support Indies by buying direct this year.
To make it even easier for you just look at all the goodies we’ve got lined up for you in our Christmas Store…
By overwhelming popular demand we’ve brought back our hugely popular Secret Santa again this year.
Just order a Secret Santa from our store and The Fahrenheit Elves will choose something really cool at random from Santa’s sack, gift wrap it in beautiful festive wrapping and send it either to you or direct to a recipient of your choice. It could be a paperback, a hardback, a rare proof copy, a t-shirt, a mug or even some of our world-famous hot-sauce. What it definitely will be is very very cool.
(We also know it’s been a tough year for a lot of you so we’ve decided to keep the price the same as last year - a straight £6 - can’t say fairer than that.)
Long time Fahrenhistas will know that every year around this time we step back from our tough noir punk exterior and embrace a bit of old fashioned Christmassy joy.
Last year you might remember we published the madly popular A VERY FAHRENHEITY CHRISTMAS and this year we think we’ve outdone ourselves with this beautiful edition of THE NUTCRACKER by E.T.A Hoffman.
You’ve probably heard of The Ballet by Tchaikovsky which does the rounds of the world’s theatres every year at Christmas but if you haven’t come across the book on which it was based you’ve really been missing out.
We promise this will make you feel more Christmassy than mulled wine, mince pies and a roaring fire.
The Fahrenheit designers have outdone themselves with this cover, the paperback edition will make a lovely little stocking filler for adults & children alike but the hardback edition really is something else - so elegant, so beautiful - if you’re smart you’ll buy a handful and give one to everyone you know.
Back in the world of crime fiction we’ve brought together what we believe might be the very best compilation of short stories published anywhere this year.
SHARPEN FIST HERE not only looks great in its 11” X 13” tartan punk finery (it’ll definitely bring a smile to everyone’s face) but the stories inside will keep every crime fiction fan hooked from start to finish.
And of course if all this choice means you can’t decide what to get for the crime fiction fan who has everything you could always get them a FAHRENHEIT GIFT CARD and let them choose for themselves.
Available in amounts of £5, £10, £15, £20, £25, £30, £50 - they can be spent on anything in our store, they have no expiration date and the recipient can spend what they want when they want - any balance will be retained to put towards their next purchase.
And if you’re supporting us we think it’s only fair that we support others so we’ve brought back our annual CRISIS AT CHRISTMAS charity push.
Every week in the run up to Christmas anyone who buys anything from us, or retweets us, or signs up to our newsletter, or follows us on Twitter or Insta etc will go into a hat and we’ll pull out a name at random every Friday and donate one of the CRISIS AT CHRISTMAS packages in their name to help someone who has found themselves without a roof over their head this Christmas…
The Elves pulled the first name at random out of the hat earlier today and we’re delighted to announce that the first CRISIS AT CHRISTMAS package has been donated in the name of Karen Mace (@bookkaz on Twitter).
There will be another next week, come play with us in our store or on our socials and it could be donated in your name.
Okay, that’s pretty much all from us this week, we’ll be adding new stuff to our Christmas store all the time over the next few weeks so keep checking back regularly.
We’ve also got something VERY SPECIAL starting on 1st December that you’re definitely not going to want to miss.
If you’re out and about this weekend look after each other and stay safe.
Better times are coming, we can feel it.
We kiss you.
xx
P.S. We’re pretty thrilled to say that THE BUTCHER’S PRAYER by Anthony Neil Smith has been short-listed for ‘Indie Book Of The Year 2021’.
Now that the judges have short-listed it the final decision goes over to the public vote.
This sort of thing doesn’t happen to us too often and it can make a massive difference to a book/author so we’d really love it if you’d go and vote for us…
The deadline for voting is 1st December 2021.
